To ensure you get the most out of the intensive one-day training program, here is a list of homework assignments to complete before the event.

  • Review the NAR Settlement Summary in full and its implications for real estate transactions. You can find a copy at www.NARLawsuit.com
  • Familiarize yourself with the key changes and new requirements from your current MLS.
  • If your Association has given you new Listing and Buyer Agreement Forms, make sure you read them carefully and also bring them to class. Review each section and note any questions or areas of confusion. Remember, you do NOT Have to use the Association forms; consider them as templates.
  • Ask your Broker for clear policies regarding all these new changes. Ask if he/she can have it in writing. If your broker does not have clear policies, make sure they attend this event so they can create those policies from what they will learn in our time together.
  • Compile a list of common questions and objections you receive from clients about commissions and agreements.
  • Think about how you currently address these concerns and how the new procedures might affect your responses.
  • Research specific STATE Real Estate Licensing law when it comes to Buyer Agency, Dual Agency, Listing and Buyer Agreements, and Fiduciary Obligations. Forget NAR comments about these items… JUST focus on your STATE LICENSE LAW.
  • Create a list of professional goals and bring them with you to the event.
  • Make a simple list of specific outcomes you hope to achieve by attending the training. Reflect on areas of your practice where you feel less confident or knowledgeable and identify areas for skill improvement.
